Travel App Roundup
Technology is here to stay, so why not take advantage?
I never leave home without my smartphone, and now I can’t even think about going on a trip without my iPad. So, I want to make sure I’ve got everything I need to get from home to vacation with no headaches.
Each month I’ll feature some travel apps that you can use to make sure you are getting the most out of technology to help you to travel.
Hands down, my favorite travel app.
TripIt is a one stop app for travel itineraries. No more spending time searching emails for reservations, or having to print them out to present at check in. Of course, if you were like me, you’d print out your confirmations and then leave them on the kitchen table.
Anytime I book a flight, train, hotel, or rental car, for my upcoming vacation, TripIt syncs with my Gmail to pull the information into the app for me. So, I never have to type in flight info, or hotel addresses, it’s all in there.
Plus it will give me directions to my destination, and for the directionally challenged like me that is priceless!
And what’s better is you can share your itineraries with friends and family.
One quick email and mom will know exactly where I’m staying and when my flight lands. And, I can let my friends know how cool I am when I post my Aspen ski trip itinerary up on Facebook or Twitter.
