One of my favorite times of the year, the colors of New England really start showing, though the traffic on back roads can be a bit of a snails crawl on crisp fall weekends, I don’t really mind.
I’m usually slowed down looking at the leaves too!
So, I thought I’d give you guys a little round up of some of the best sites and articles out there right now on leaf peeping, so you can be sure to know when the time is right for you to hit the road and check them out.
The Boston Globe gives us a nice little slideshow of some of the Best Foliage Drives in New England.
The Travel Chanel also gives us a great little series of tips on how to have an awesome leaf peeping road trip.
If you are a true New Englander, then you have a subscription to Yankee Magazine, and each year without fail they fire up the live Yankee Foliage Map to give would be leaf peepers some real time information.
A little skeptical on the whole leaf peeping thing? It’s alright, I understand, but to give you an idea of just how much leaf peeping brings into the general New England economy, check out this little study from a few years ago in Boston Magazine, called The Economics of Leaf Peeping.
